Adult Outpatient Programs

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provide a transition from inpatient treatment, but can also be an alternative track for patients that require more than the conventional outpatient level of care can offer.

Adult Outpatient Programs

What We Treat in Our Adult Outpatient Program

We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help patients address emotional issues like:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • PTSD
  • Mood disorders
  • Adjustment issues
  • Grief
  • Abuse/trauma
  • Relationship conflict
  • Poor impulse control
  • Eating disorders
  • Psychosis
  • Gender-specific issues
  • Substance abuse/dependence

The staff of psychiatrists, therapists and nurses at our adult partial hospitalization program in Louisiana collaborate to stabilize symptoms and establish the skills needed to ensure long-term personal growth and development. The average stay is approximately three weeks, but the timing may vary due to individual patient needs.

Individualized Treatment Plans

Behavioral health treatment is not one-size-fits-all, and the individualized treatment plans in our PHP for adults focus on helping you take positive steps forward. Our treatment plans may include:

  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Group and individual therapy
  • Family therapy and education
  • Health and nutrition education
  • Substance abuse education
  • Activity and recreational therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Medication management
  • Education services
  • Individualized discharge and aftercare planning

PHP Lodging Program

The Adult Partial Hospitalization (PHP) Lodging Program is for patients that live too far away from Brentwood Hospital for daily travel or just aren’t ready to transition back to their home environment. Groups are conducted at the hospital Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, with shortened programming on Saturday, and a reflection day on Sunday.
