Education & Classwork

Brentwood Hospital, located in Shreveport, Louisiana, believes that learning and education are essential to achieving better mental health outcomes for our child and adolescent patients. While here, they will participate in Educational Therapy provided by in house certified teachers and paraprofessionals, who will provide lessons for your child. These lessons allow doctors and staff to evaluate the effectiveness of the medications prescribed for your child. Scores or grades will not be sent back to the child’s school.

Parent/Guardians: If you would like your child to work on assignments from their school while at the hospital, you are responsible for bringing and returning the books and assignments for your child. We will provide assistance with the assignments in class if needed. When discharged, your child will be given a doctor’s excuse to cover his or her absences from school.
