Outpatient Programs in Shreveport, LA
Branches Highland offers structured outpatient psychiatric services to people suffering with behavioral health and substance abuse, but don’t require 24/7 inpatient monitoring. We accept referrals for patients age 4 and up in the Shreveport and Caddo Parish areas of Louisiana.
Our programs integrate the following as part of your treatment plan:
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Physical examination
- Family and individual therapy
- Health and nutrition education
- Activity and recreational therapy
- Medication management
- Substance abuse treatment and detox, as necessary
- Educational support
- Individualized discharge and aftercare planning
Our clinicians help patients in our program succeed in these areas to set themselves up for success in the long run.
Partial Hospitalization Programs
We offer Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) for adolescents and adults. These programs provide a transition from inpatient treatment, but can also be an alternative track for patients that require more than the conventional outpatient level of care can offer.
We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help patients address emotional issues.
Intensive Outpatient Program for Senior Adults
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to provide seniors with mild mental health challenges the guidance and support they need to better manage their day-to-day lives. It provides a transition from inpatient treatment, but can also be a programming alternative for patients that require more than a basic outpatient level of care.
Is Outpatient Treatment Right For You?
For people with mental health or substance abuse issues who do not need 24-hour care, traditional outpatient treatment provides a flexible, structured option that can make a difference in their lives. Sometimes, the length of stay can be a barrier to getting the help that you need, but a traditional outpatient program can fill in the gaps by typically taking place for just a few hours per day throughout the week and still providing quality, beneficial mental health or substance use care. This flexibility allows you to receive the care you need while fitting treatment into a busy life schedule.
A traditional outpatient program may be right for you if:
- You are struggling with symptoms of mental health issues
- You are seeking professional help for the first time
- You are returning to treatment
- You are stepping down from a higher level of care
Our clinic provides outpatient services for people ages four and up, with dedicated mental health professionals who each may specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults and senior adults. Call us today at 318-678-7563 for an assessment that can help you to determine a potential treatment option that best works for you.
What Does Outpatient Treatment Look Like?
Outpatient treatment is conducted through scheduled appointments at a clinic or hospital, where people receive therapy or counseling and then return home afterwards. It does not require staying overnight at a facility. During these appointments, people may participate in individual therapy sessions, medication management, and other forms of treatment. The frequency of appointments can vary depending on the treatment plan, such as intensive outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization or standard outpatient, and progress of each person.
Overall, outpatient treatment provides flexibility for people to continue with their daily responsibilities while receiving the necessary support and guidance for managing their mental health or substance abuse issues.
