Branches Outpatient Clinic
Brentwood Hospital’s psychiatric outpatient clinic offers structured outpatient psychiatric services to those suffering with behavioral health and substance abuse, but doesn’t require 24/7 inpatient monitoring. We accept referrals for patients age 4 and up in the Shreveport and Caddo Parish areas of Louisiana.
Our programs integrate the following as part of your treatment plan:
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Physical examination
- Family, group and individual therapy
- Health and nutrition education
- Activity and recreational therapy
- Medication management
- Substance abuse treatment and detox, as necessary
- Educational Support
- Individualized discharge and aftercare planning
Our clinicians help patients in our program succeed in these areas to set themselves up for success in the long run.
Is Outpatient Treatment Right For You?
While outpatient treatment offers many benefits, it may not be the best option for everyone. For people with severe mental health or substance abuse issues, intensive outpatient services or inpatient treatment may be more appropriate. These options provide more structure and support, which can be crucial for those who are struggling with their mental health.
Additionally, outpatient treatment may not be suitable for those who do not have a strong support system at home. Without a stable and supportive environment, people may struggle to make progress in their treatment. It is important to have a strong support system in place before starting outpatient treatment.
What Does Outpatient Treatment Look Like?
Outpatient treatment is conducted through scheduled appointments at a clinic or hospital, where people receive therapy or counseling and then return home afterwards. It does not require staying overnight at a facility. During these appointments, people may participate in individual or group therapy sessions, medication management, and other forms of treatment. The frequency of appointments can vary depending on the treatment plan, such as intensive outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, or standard outpatient, and progress of each person.
Overall, outpatient treatment provides flexibility for people to continue with their daily responsibilities while receiving the necessary support and guidance for managing their mental health or substance abuse issues.
