  • Medication management
  • Substance abuse treatment and detox

Is outpatient treatment right for you?

For people with mental health or substance abuse issues who do not need 24-hour care, traditional outpatient treatment provides a flexible, structured option that can make a difference in their lives. Sometimes, the length of stay can be a barrier to getting the help that you need, but a traditional outpatient program can fill in the gaps by typically taking place for just a few hours per day throughout the week and still providing quality, beneficial mental health or substance use care.

Flexibility in a schedule allows you to receive the care you need while fitting treatment into a busy lifestyle. An outpatient mental health program may be right if:

  • You’re struggling with symptoms of mental health disorders
  • You’re seeking professional psychiatric help for the first time
  • You’re returning to treatment after relapse
  • You’re stepping down from a higher level of care

Our clinic provides outpatient services for people ages four and up. We have dedicated mental health professionals who specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults and seniors. Call 318-222-6226 to arrange a private assessment to help determine the potential treatment options that work best for you.

What is treatment like at Brentwood’s outpatient locations?

Outpatient treatment is conducted through scheduled appointments at a clinic or hospital, where people receive therapy or counseling and then return home afterwards. It does not require staying overnight at a facility. During these appointments, people may participate in individual therapy sessions, medication management, and other forms of treatment. The frequency of appointments can vary depending on the treatment plan, such as intensive outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization or standard outpatient, and progress of each person.

Overall, outpatient treatment provides flexibility for people to continue with their daily responsibilities while receiving the necessary support and guidance for managing their mental health or substance abuse issues.
